Rainbow District School Board is committed to academic success for all students by encouraging homework completion. Parents as Partners: Learning at Home is a homework program for students in Grades 1 to 6. The goal is to build skills in reading, writing and math through regular practice at home, while reinforcing what your child is learning in school.
As parents ourselves, we understand that nights and weekends are busy, so we have tried to create work that will take no more than 30 minutes per night, and can be done in the car on the way to practice or while you are outside exploring nature.
These monthly newsletters are posted on the Board’s website each month. They can be accessed at the link below.
Along with the Homework flyers, you will also find many resources and links to online games, apps and worksheets to assist with your child’s learning at home.
We also have a Homework Club at Churchill that runs from 3 pm to 3:30 pm each day after school. Our Educational Assistants work with some groups to help students with areas of work they may be struggling with. If you are interested in your child accessing this service, please call the school. If you are interested in more information, please contact Sandy MacEwen.
